"Savior of the World"

This November I was blessed with the opportunity to participate in the Louisville Stake production, "Savior of the World." I helped paint the set and apply the actors' makeup. It was such an amazing experience! I loved getting to know the wonderful people of our stake better and to be a part of something so special. It was a testimony building experience that I will never forget.

Here are some pictures of the production.
I got these on the Louisville Kentucky Stake Activities website.

Here are a few pictures of the cast and crew my friend Alvaro and I took. We had a lot of fun backstage!

Leaves, Pillow Fights and a Basketball Game

We discovered that Reagan enjoys raking leaves. So we put her to work.

She needed lots of breaks to admire her work...

And to pose for the camera.

Here is one of Reagan's favorite things....Pillow fights with Daddy.
This is her anticipating a big throw by Dad...

And he didn't disappoint!
Reagan loves this game so much that she brings Dad the pillows to throw at her.

I don't know what she is doing here but I find this picture very amusing.

"You can't get me Daddy!"

Here is Reagan at Jerrel's basketball game yesterday. My friend got a couple good shots of her. She LOVED running on the court...which made watching the game very difficult but half time and time outs were a blast!

We are loving life with a toddler. Reagan is so much fun to play with! Never a dull moment in this house!

Uber fun at Huber Farm

Saturday we went to Huber Farm with our friends the Meyers.
Reagan loved to ride the animals statues.

Horsey, always a fav

Here we are looking at the animals in the fields.

Reagan loved the corn maze. Here she is riding a cornstalk likes it a horse, haha!

Reagan ran through the maze and we followed.

"Follow me Daddy, I know the way."

"I'm freeee!"
I love this action shot of her.

I hope we own a lot of land someday. This girl loves wide open spaces.

Lots of fun things to do but Reagan and Austin found this crate to be most exciting.

Ah, Felix. This guy was nuts! So we let him hold our children.
He made up random prices for each activity then drove us around the farm.

Reagan loved feeding the animals! Even after an overzealous turkey bit her finger! She sure is a tough gal.
Huber farm was so fun! We will have to go again in the spring!

Cuteness lately

Wearing Daddy's scrub top made her absolutely giddy!

Silly girl

We brought Reagan some souvenirs from Hawaii but she loved the leis the most.

This may be my favorite picture of her so far. I love how her eyes dance!

Wrestling with Daddy after building a fort.

Reagan likes to give kisses. Open mouthed, slobbery kisses.

Too cool for school.

Reagan insisted on wearing one brown shoe and one white shoe. She was pretty proud of her fashion decision.

This is Reagan and Ella playing "Peek-a-Boo" with the couch cushions. They were laughing so hard! Reagan loves hanging out with the big kids.

One of my favorite outfits on Reags. It shows her spunky personality.

She's even cute when she is screaming at Mommy!

Discovering the thrill of Trick-or-Treating

Here is a review of our awesome Halloween week!

Jerrel and I had our own pumpkin carving contest. (Yes, we are quite competitive sometimes!) He did the ghost and I did the Tinkerbell. I think Jerrel's carving skills have increased since becoming a dental student. He even calls himself a Dentartist. (I call him Tard for short...)

Slow shutter speed + lights = fun times had by all!

I take Reagan and Ella (the girl I babysit) to "Story time" at the library on Thursdays. This week they got to wear their costumes which made the event even more chaotic than normal! Pictured is the Jansson penguins, Ella the butterfly (minus the wings), Austin the monster, and Reagan the Tinkerbell. Guess which child wont sit still during the stories...

Peter Pan, Wendy and Tink at the ward Trunk-or-Treat.

Reagan figured out pretty quickly how to hold her hand out and receive the candy. She then learned to put in in her bag quickly and hold out her hand again for seconds. Smart girl.

Both of us were very happy after getting some chocolate in our bellies!

On Halloween night we went Trick-or-Treating again. This time we roamed the streets with our friends the Janssons. Wes and Jerrel stayed home to pass out the candy and watch football while Laura and I took the kids around the neighborhood to collect the goods!

Bethany and Reagan were pretty excited to dig in. Reagan tore through many of the packagings with her teeth to get to the candy. She had definitely developed a sweet tooth!
Hope your Halloween was great too!

"Spook"tacular Halloween Party!

My buddy Chelsea and I hosted a Halloween Party on Friday. I think it went very well if I do say so myself!

We had a lot of fun decorating. Bats, bleeding candles, ghosts and monsters! Notice our green punch with upside-down floating eyeballs!

OOOO!

Jared with Hans (A.K.A Buddy the Elf) He stayed in character all night, which was absolutely hilarious!

The Clowards. I did not recognize them at first! Someone described them as "Carrot Top in high school and Carrot Top now," ha!

The "Nacho Libre" inspired costumes worn by Katherine and Taurean.

The Janssons as "Black-Eyed Peas."

Paul the tourist.

Jerrel and I as Peter Pan and Wendy.

That's MY man! Those eyeballs were so gross!

Andrew and Sarah as a "Kentucky Shotgun Wedding." Andrew's mullet looked creepily realistic! They won the "Best Couples Costume" award.

Hans won the "Best Individual Costume" award. Here he is doing a celebratory jig.

The couples that made it till midnight!

We had a blast playing games, laughing, and eating "Spooky" treats! Some of us were just excited to have a night away from the kids! Can't wait to do it again next year!

Hawaii!!!

Earlier this month Jerrel and I were able to go to Oahu. Jerrel won a free trip to go to the ADA Dental Conference in Honolulu. We went to the conference for half a day and then played the rest of the week! It was an amazing vacation! We took over 400 pictures but the selection below should sum it up! (Click on the collages to see them bigger.)

The Dole Plantation. Dole Whip Ice-cream= yummy goodness!

North Shore. If we ever go to Oahu again we will stay on the North Shore. Huge waves, less people, and beautiful scenery. Why didn't I go to BYU Hawaii again???

U.S.S. Missouri at Pearl Harbor. (This is were the Japanese surrendered in WWII.)
We got a special tour to see the dental facilities. The top left picture is Jerrel's future room, the "Senior Dental Officer's Room."

U.S.S. Arizona: very somber and humbling. (Top 3 pics)
Seeing our friends the Judi's: very unexpected and exciting! We went to dinner at "Duke's" together. They were some of our 1st Louisville friends so it was great catching up with them!
The bottom middle picture is the tabernacle in Honolulu. Jerrel and I caught one session of conference there and then we were invited to a ward feast! It was so much fun having an authentic Polynesian meal with the locals! The last picture is Jerrel getting ready for the beach. ;)

Sunrise on the East Shore. It was SO beautiful!

More sunrise and Hanauma Bay (Bottom left). We had a blast snorkeling there...Once we got the hang of it! Jerrel and I were first time snorkelers but we are dying to go again!

On the "Atlantis Submarine." (Thank you Nathan and Fred for the sweet hookups!) The Sub was awesome...and it would have been even more awesome if I didn't feel like hurling the whole time! I have never felt so sea sick in my life! We got to see lots of fish and even four sea turtles! (Can you find them in the two right pictures?) And yes, the bottom left picture is a toilet on the sunken ship.

Sunset over Waikiki. The other pictures are of beautiful paintings from a gallery that I walked through many times. I loved them all! I even met one of the artist.

Ah, the Polynesian Cultural Center. A must see for any Hawaiian tourist. Very fun, very well done and very pricey! We had a blast though. We learned about many cultures, ate at an authentic luau, and watched an amazing show that night. (Pictured below.) This is all put on by the students of BYU- very impressive!

"Ha, Breath of Life" production at the PCC. The dancing was amazing! The top right picture is the craziest thing I have ever seen...The men would put out fire with their dry palm frond skirts while dancing, sitting and stomping on the fire. The fire dancing was incredible as well. Jerrel's favorite was the Tahitian dancing. He said that Shakira has nothing on those girls!

This was our last day in Hawaii. We made the most of it by hiking Diamond Head and hanging out at Hukilau Beach. Now back to real life...

We missed Reagan so much and it was so good to hold her again! Thanks Mom and Dad for watching her! She had a blast as well!

New Cast

On Friday Reagan got her cast put on! (Yay.....) She isn't too thrilled but has already figured out how to walk on it pretty well. Nothing is going to keep her from getting around!

We hear that cheerleading is a dangerous sport.

Teddy got a cast too. Misery does love company.

Broken Leg

Well, at least the hospital gown looks stinkin' cute on her!

Oh the day we have had! I was at a friend's house early this afternoon and my little Reagan fell down a whole flight of stairs. I knew she had hurt her leg so I took her to the doctor ASAP and then straight to the ER for x-rays. Luckily we were at Kosair's which is down the street from the dental school. Jerrel met us there which was a huge help. It's not too easy entertaining a hungry, tired, hurting toddler! Reagan really did well considering the circumstances. She was not allowed to eat or drink (in case she were to need surgery) and she had only had a 10 minute nap....not to mention her leg hurt really bad! After a long wait we found out that she has a "distal tibia fracture." The doctor was GREAT and put the splint on her no prob! Once she was allowed to eat she was a very happy girl! She fell at about 12:30 and we were finally home at about 7:30. It was a long day and Reagan was a real trooper. She is pretty frustrated that she cannot get around well. She is already trying to crawl and walk on the cast. She can walk with my help and I am sure it is a matter of time before she is hobbling around on her own. We will go get a cast next week!
Here are some pictures of our little gimp after we got settled back home:

Chillin in her rocking chair with a good book

"This is my good leg"

I think she could get used to this.

Still happy. What a sweetheart!

Goodbye Summer...until next time.

Summer was good to our little Reagan. She turned one, learned to walk and run, and developed a passion for the outdoors. She visited the zoo weekly, frequented the water parks, and spent a lot of time with friends and family.

Here is Reagan's summer recap:

We will miss summer time but look forward to what fall may bring!
